Sales 2.0 Conference Here We Come

sales 20 conference san francisco

SAN FRANCISCO

Today and tomorrow we’ll be across town attending the Sales 2.0 Conference at the InterContinental Hotel. The theme this year is How to Accelerate Sales in a Slow Economy, which clearly was inspired by our post last month on How to Grow Sales in a Down Economy. Ok, kidding, but I needed to get at least one internal link into this post, right? Jokes aside, the theme couldn’t be more timely and I plan to share with you as much information as I can absorb or inscribe.

I attended the inaugural Sales 2.0 Conf in 2007 when I was a SaaS Marketing Director, but some pressing issues at the office kept me from experiencing much outside of the networking events. This year, though, I’m attending on my own terms, and am very much looking forward to immersing myself in two days of lectures by some very talented individuals.

If you’re attending the conference I’d love to meet with you, or, heck, even if you’re not attending the conference but are in The City today let’s grab a cup of coffee near the hotel (5th and Howard;) I’m sure I’ll need a break or two… or three. Either way, the best way to get a hold of me is probably to send me a DM on Twitter.

If you can’t make it but wish you could, @damphoux will be live-blogging the event via Twitter, so open up TweetDeck or download Monitter (<–I’m loving this rt now) and follow #sales20.

On a side note, while the InterContinental Hotel is beautiful and posh and their website is clean and functional, I’d like to remind all the web developers and marketing directors reading this that the whole auto-play-music feature on websites is so very 1996 (or so very MySpace.)  The volume on my speakers was set on high when I visited their site this morning, and the auto-play scared the crap out of me. Once I turned it down I was able to appreciate some very nice piano and violin (maybe some cello, too?) but I’ll stick to my iPod when I want to listen to music. Thanks. Love the design though.

That’s all for now, expect a follow-up post this evening or tomorrow morning, depending on where the day/evening takes us.

Here’s a look at the conference sponsors:
