CONTEST: Submit Your Killed Ideas and Become Famous!

Attention all marketers, agency creatives, and other media slaves:

From now until 11:59pm PST on March 31st The Daily Anchor is accepting submissions for the best killed ideas; creative ideas that never saw the light of day.

How many times have you thought up a great idea only to have it shot down by a client, a boss, or even another great idea?

Think of this contest as a homeless shelter for your killed idea… or maybe a final resting place, one that is oh-so-much-more dignified than the recycling bin next to the copier.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Send an email to editor @ thedailyanchor.com describing your killed idea in a few paragraphs – be sure to include any images (zip ‘em if they’re huge)
  2. Tell us if anybody else contributed to the idea
  3. Tell us why the idea was killed
  4. To have your idea considered for inclusion in Steve Hall’s forthcoming book, you’ll also need to submit your idea here

Just so you know:

  • By submitting your idea you agree to have it published on TheDailyAnchor.com
  • You can keep your/your team’s identity anonymous if you’d like, but now is your chance to get some overdue recognition
  • You’re not required to disclose your client or their brand, but the more context the better
  • The media you provide (images, storyboards, video, cocktail napkin sketches) must be owned by you, your team or your employer.

Last year, we were going to exhibit at Salesforce.com’s “Sales Kickoff” in Las Vegas. We were going to promote our company with the “Gold Club” and hire a couple of “exotic models” to drive traffic to our booth. We got approvals up the chain until it hit an EVP that shot it down…
