After a week-long hiatus we’re back and rearing to go; all except for Mike, anyway, who’s still tearing it up on the East Coast.
This past Wednesday I had the unfortunate experience of having knee surgery, but it went perfectly well and all things considered it ended up being a positive and productive experience. I spent so much time talking business with my roommate in recovery that I’m tempted to write this whole thing off as a business expense (jk, IRS.)
Key Knee Takeaways:
- I had a synovectomy, chondroplasty, and partial menisectomy.
- I was all smiles until the local anesthetic wore off.
- My surgeon – Dr. Scott Dye – had the same surgery performed on him 20 years ago with no anesthetic: he wanted to experience the procedure first-hand in full consciousness.
- He also did Joe Montana’s knees back in the day.
- Dr. Dye is the best name for a surgeon evar, second perhaps only to Dr. Death.
- I shared a recovery room with another small business owner, and we whiled away the time talking business into the wee hours of the morning.
- Apparently being in a Vicodin-induced cloud doesn’t preclude productivity: while it was probably wise of me to not write any articles or make any calls, I managed to do a heck of a lot of stream of consciousness brainstorming.
