Contest: Submit your Killed Ideas and finally receive some long overdue recognition. We’ve all had a great idea be shot down by a boss, coworker or professor, so dust off the cobwebs and email those great ideas to editor @ thedailyanchor.com. It doesn’t matter if you’re a marketer, agency creative, sales rep, or student; all ideas are welcome.
Deadline Extended
It turns out that you (and we) are just as big of procrastinators as we were in our freshman year of college…
We first posted about our Killed Ideas contest on March 10th, and for the first 2 weeks we received only a handful of submissions. Now that the deadline is fast approaching (tomorrow!), though, the submissions have miraculously started rolling in. Go figure.
Well, in order to give our deadline-challenged friends a little more time to get their Killed Ideas down on paper, we’re moving the cut off date for Killed Ideas submissions to 11:59pm on Tuesday, April 7th.
Here’s how it works:
- Send an email to editor @ thedailyanchor.com describing your killed idea in a few paragraphs
- Be sure to include any images (zip ‘em if they’re huge)
- Tell us if anybody else contributed to the idea
- Tell us why the idea was killed
- To have your idea considered for inclusion in Steve Hall’s forthcoming book on Killed Ideas, you’ll also need to submit your idea here
Just so you know:
- By submitting your idea you agree to have it published on TheDailyAnchor.com
- You can keep your/your team’s identity anonymous if you’d like, but now is your chance to get some overdue recognition
- You’re not required to disclose your client or their brand, but the more context the better
- The media you provide (images, storyboards, video, cocktail napkin sketches) must be owned by you, your team or your employer
The contest is sponsored by Blurb

The Winner will:
- Receive Blurb coupons to help you publish your own book
- Have your idea featured on The Daily Anchor
- Have the opportunity to write a weekly guest column on The Daily Anchor for one month
- Instantly become very, very cool and very, very popular
2 Runners up will receive a Blurb coupon
Email your idea to editor @ thedailyanchor.com
We need your best idea by 11:59pm on Monday, April 7th. No Exceptions.
